This bachelor thesis is focused on Emil Hácha during the period of the so called Second Republic, that existed between October 1938 and March 1939, while he was the President of Czechoslovakia. The goal of this bachelor thesis is not only to describe the steps he took in the time of constant threat by the neighbouring Third Reich, but also to capture the mood and atmosphere enveloping the country on the eve of the Second World War.

The thesis "Conception of Jew in the Czech film during the Second Republic and the Protectorate" deals with ways of displaying characters of Jewish figures in the film in the period. It deals with Czech films made between the years 1939-1945, which appears Jewish character, then their analysis and evaluation of whether the film antisemitic sting occurred or not. The work focuses primarily on Czech film production, but also mentions characteristically related films made in Nazi Germany. The thesis "The reflection of social changes during the period between September 1938 and December 1939 in a football environment according to the Rekord magazine" deals with the events forming Czech society during the period of the Munich crisis, The Second Republic and the first months of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia in connection with football organizations. It analyses the key moments that influenced individual components of public life. The study deals with general circumstances and the historical context. It analyses the way in which Rekord, the official bulletin of The Football Association and The Football Federation, used to work with these facts. The text discusses important matches with the political background, organizational changes in a football environment caused by new conditions, unifying trends, anti-Semitic arrangements, disestablishment of professionalism or Slovaks' effort to gain autonomy. It also deals with the direct impact of occupation of border regions and later of all Bohemian lands, influencing community life and the run of all championship competitions. The Czech self-determination in sport after the constitution of the protectorate in March 1939 and international contacts of Czech football teams until the end of the year 1939 is also included in the text....

The thesis Radio Broadcasting for the German Minority in the Czech Countries until the Year 1945, with the Example of the Melnik Broadcast Transmitter describes the radio broadcasting for the German people living in Bohemia and Moravia in the period from its formation until the year 1945. It concentrates on the radio broadcaster in Melnik that was built in 1938 with the purpose of giving a special broadcasting to the German minority living in the Czech countries. The analytical part is divided into three sections: broadcasting for the Germans in the First and Second Republic and Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. Another chapter focuses on the broadcasting from The Soviet Union (especially on the broadcaster Sudetendeutscher Freiheitssender) and Great Britain. It focuses on the contrasting access to the radio broadcasting for this group from the side of the Czech political representation and from the side of the German state. Reflection of political and daily life in the weekly magazine Přítomnost: since munich to second world war

This thesis aims to evaluate the historical context, atmosphere and social and political events of the 1930s through the work of a weekly political magazine 'Pritomnost'. Firstly, the historical development of the magazine is introduced. Moreover, the situation of the mass media in the country during this time period is evaluated. Furthermore, the emphasis is put on the two core personalities of the magazine Ferdinand Peroutka and Milena Jesenska. Secondly, crucial articles of the magazine are analysed. For the purposes of this thesis articles from the periods of 'Second Republic' and 'Protectorate Bohemia and Moravia' were used. The thesis reflects the work of 'Pritomnost' until its suspension. In its analyses of the articles this thesis evaluates the main focus of the magazine, views of the editorial board and the atmosphere of the time. Quotations of these articles have been contextualised to accurately represent the historical events and options given to the editors by the censorship. In the conclusion the findings are summarised and the aims of the thesis are evaluated. The appendices show some key documents related to the magazine's journalistic work.
The Position of the Czechoslovakia Senate in the Political System in the First Republic

The goal of this thesis is to show the life and functioning of the Senate of the National Assembly of Czechoslovakia. The upper house of the Czechoslovak Parliament functioned between 1920 and 1939 after which it was officially dissolved during the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. In the concerned period, the chamber was gradually saw 444 lawmakers of seven different nationalities. The biggest number consisted of Czechs and Germans. The functioning of the Senate is analyzed from multiple angles. First the debate accompanying the establishment of a second chamber before the adoption of the new Constitution in 1920 is analyzed. Attention is also paid to the period debates and unrealized proposals for a Senate reform at the end the 1920's, linked to the proposed creation of the Economic Parliament. Also shown is the proportional representation electoral system used for elections to the Senate. The results were reflected in a large number of political parties with low electoral gains, which in turn hindered the creation of a stable political environment.
